A True Captain

Once there was a Ship on its Journey to its Homeland from another Country. It was carrying some Passengers and some Goats too. Just when it was in the middle of the Ocean, some mechanical fault happened and the Ship began to sink.

Thankfully, there were enough Life Boats and other Safety Equipments for the Safety of the People. But, there were nothing for the Animals. It was never considered important and nobody ever gave a thought about it in the Shipping company about the Safety of the Animals.

The Ship was Sinking Fast and everybody was involved in getting as-many-People as possible on the LifeBoats. However, the Captain of the Ship got a little concerned when he saw the plight of the Animals. He thought that even if we are able to put one Goat in one LifeBoat, we will be able to save atleast Half of them.

Instead of thinking about his own self, he began putting one Goat in each Boat, very much against the wishes of the Staff and the Passengers. But, he did not listen to anyone and continued doing his Work. One Junior came up to him and said, “Sir, its time you also hop on to one Boat and leave from here as the Ship is sinking Fast. All the Passengers are being evacuated and we are all leaving too. How many of the Goats can you save? It will not make much of a difference.”

The Captain put another Goat in, looked at his Junior and said, “As the Captain of this Ship, it is my moral Duty to do my best to save all my Passengers and this realisation of my Duty is making a difference to this one.”
